Grand Opening

This past June we had the pleasure of opening our doors and welcoming all our couples, friends & family to see Magnolia Hill Farm. As we let our kids cut the ribbon I couldn’t imagine a better moment then to see it all come together. At the end of the night I told Meredith with Auburn & Ivory Creative that if I was to get married all over again, this is what it would look like. I was inspired by this artwork I randomly found on Pinterest and both Katie from Old Slate Farm and Meredith literally took it and ran with it. We were finishing up construction and having 4 weddings so I was thankful for the best and most creative ladies planning this grand opening! Jenna Nicole Photography was gracious enough to take photographs and I couldn’t be more excited to share!

We had a Old Slate Farm in the veranda making fresh boquets for guests to take home. She also did an incredible greenery install in the Magnolia room that took everyone’s breath away! All the floral arrangements were everything, the colors were gorgeous.

As guests entered the building they were greeted with the best drinks made by Short & Stout bar. Lets be honest, after 5 years of planning, designing and building this place, we all deserved a stiff drink!

Our amazing desserts were by The Cheesecake Girl & Cupcakes n’ Cream Bake Shoppe. Cheesecake is always a good choice, no matter the event so of course we had Samantha come! We found out that a girl from our church was starting a business and when I first tried one of her cookies I was blown away, they were amazing! I LOVE supporting local businesses especially when its a young girl who is a total boss!

Creative cuisine brought the yummiest of food, at least what I could eat at 11pm! I had the gouda dip and I’ve been craving it ever since! Smoked on High brought the best bbq I’ve had this side of the Ohio river! Their brisket & mac n cheese is the best! Our lounge furniture is from Aiden & Grace, they have the best selection for specialty rentals in Columbus! Josh Staley provided us a photobooth and I’m pretty sure my daughter took half the photos taken that night! Midwest DJ Pro brought the tunes and set the mood for a great night!

We cannot thank everyone enough for making this day so perfect. All the links for the vendors who joined us are below! To everyone who made it out to celebrate with us, we appreciate each and every one of you! Thank you again!

The Veranda

When we first started dreaming this up, I had an entirely different plan. I wanted a big white barn with a lot of windows, all white and all gorgeous. Then we shot a wedding in the middle of May and it rained all day and it was bitterly cold. Middle of May in Ohio doesn’t always mean blue skies and sunshine! So with that I changed my entire design and sat down with a designer and came up with our “L shape” building. The veranda came later, we initially had this totally closed in with windows but it felt like a smaller replica of the Magnolia Room and we thought maybe we should have something different. So we opened up the walls and made it an open air veranda. The end of the room is enclosed in windows and the archway breezeway gives you a romantic view of the courtyard and the hills on our country road. When I received this drawing from Fiona, I maybe cried a little bit. I absolutely loved how it turned out and I cannot wait to see this come to life.

The purpose of the Veranda was to give our couples a covered area to have their ceremony or cocktail hour in. I also see small parties in this room with flowers hanging from the trusses. We have the most beautiful sunsets out here in Centerburg and I cannot wait for our couples to enjoy them through these archways.

Hello & Welcome to Magnolia Hill’s blog! We are so thrilled to have you and we cannot wait to fill these pages with gorgeous weddings and flowers from the farm. Today we made Magnolia Hill Farm official and we still can’t find the words with how excited we are. For over eleven years we have been in the wedding industry and for those eleven years, we’ve heard of the desire for a place like Magnolia Hill. Four years ago we started our journey to making it a reality and I still can’t believe its happening. We visited various farms, barns and other gorgeous venues around the country and found inspiration everywhere. As photographers we knew we wanted something that had enough charm and design to draw you in but it still be simple enough to let the most creative minds make the place their own. We wanted you to feel like you were home yet far enough away from the city to feel like you were having a destination wedding. As our renderings brought life to the our dreams, we’re hoping you see how intentional we were with making Magnolia Hill Farm.

Our plans are to not only host beautiful weddings and events but to grow a unique range of peonies. Because it takes a few years for those flowers to mature we also have made plans to have various cut flowers for local florists and a small orchard of flowering trees. We can’t wait to keep you updated as we begin work on the flower field this year.

You can follow along as we break ground and watch this beautiful farm come to life on instagram, so follow us here!
